Build a Meaningful Career in Coaching
Join a team that believes coaching is a craft worth mastering.
Coaching at MaxFitHealth is about far more than leading workouts.
Every day, our members place their trust in us to help them move better, build confidence, and improve their quality of life. We believe that trust is earned through thoughtful coaching, continual learning, careful attention, and genuine relationships.
We’re looking for someone who wants to continually develop those skills and build a meaningful career helping people live healthier, more capable lives.
Coaching at MaxFitHealth
We specialize in Semi-Private Personal Training, where one coach leads a small group of up to four members. We also provide one-on-one Private Personal Training.
Our Semi-Private members follow a thoughtfully designed training system built around long-term progress, continual improvement, and the way people actually move through everyday life.
The program provides the foundation. The coach brings it to life.
Rather than creating random workouts from scratch each day, our coaches focus their attention where it creates the greatest impact: running a great session, paying attention to the people in front of them, making thoughtful modifications, teaching movement, building relationships, and helping each member get the most from the work they put in.
The program is shared. The coaching is individual.
Who Thrives Here?
There isn’t one background or career path that creates a great MaxFitHealth coach.
Some people join us with years of experience. Others are earlier in their careers but possess the qualities that allow them to become exceptional over time.
You’ll probably thrive here if you:
- Enjoy learning and continually improving your craft.
- Take pride in doing meaningful work well.
- Pay attention to details others may overlook.
- Enjoy teaching people, not simply putting them through workouts.
- Communicate clearly and are comfortable leading individuals and small groups.
- Take ownership of your work and the member experience.
- Build trust before trying to impress.
- Are humble enough to recognize what you don’t know and motivated enough to keep learning.
- Care about helping people live better lives—not simply helping them exercise.
What You’ll Do
As a Fitness Coach, you’ll:
- Lead Semi-Private and Private Personal Training sessions.
- Create an organized, engaging, and professional coaching environment.
- Teach movement, provide feedback, and adapt exercises to individual needs.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with members.
- Help members stay accountable through regular communication and progress reviews.
- Learn and implement the MaxFitHealth training system and coaching standards.
- Participate in ongoing coaching development and team meetings.
- Contribute to a team that is continually trying to make the member experience better.
What You’ll Develop
You’ll have opportunities to continually develop your skills in:
- Coaching communication and cueing
- Leadership and small-group coaching
- Movement observation and exercise technique
- Program implementation and modification
- Goal setting and progress reviews
- Member relationships and accountability
- Professional judgment and decision-making
- Long-term coaching strategy
As your skills and responsibilities grow, so can your role at MaxFitHealth.
Qualifications
Required
- Nationally recognized Personal Training certification or related exercise science degree, or willingness to obtain an approved certification
- CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain it before starting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence leading individuals and small groups
- Professionalism, dependability, and a willingness to receive feedback
- Consistent availability for at least two coaching shifts per week
Preferred
- Previous personal training or coaching experience
- Experience leading small groups
- Strong understanding of fundamental movement patterns and exercise technique
Experience matters, but it isn’t everything. We’re more interested in your ability and willingness to become an exceptional coach than in arriving with every skill already developed.
Schedule
Our primary weekday coaching shifts are:
- Morning: 5:30 AM–10:00 AM
- Midday: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Evening: 4:00 PM–7:00 PM
Saturday coaching opportunities are also available.
We’re looking for coaches who can commit consistently to at least two shifts per week, with opportunities to build a larger schedule as the role develops.
Interested?
We’re not looking for someone who already believes they have all the answers. We’re looking for someone who cares enough about coaching to keep learning, asking better questions, and improving their craft.
If you’re looking for a place to grow as a coach while building a meaningful career helping people live healthier, more capable lives, we’d like to learn more about you.
